Sectional tram lines renewal works – The second phase starts

The second phase of the works, Kálvin Square, was adjusted by the company to the period between the end of the school term and the start of the Campus Festival. 

During the construction period, between June 23 and July 6, 2025, the trams will operate in two sections:

Section I: Main Station –  Kossuth Square – Main Station

Section II: Kálvin Square – Egyetem/Doberdó Street – Kálvin Square

Trams 1 and 2 will not transport passengers between the Kossuth Square and Kálvin Square stops. The entire line can only be used with transfers. In all cases, passengers must get off at Kossuth Square and walk to the Kálvin Square stop, where they can board the trams with the corresponding number of the route to their destination. Passengers traveling to the Main Station must get off at Kálvin Square and walk to the Kossuth Square tram stop.

During the works, the Kossuth Square and Városháza stops in the direction of the Main Station will be closed. Passengers can get on and off the trams in both directions at the Kossuth Square and Városháza stops located in the direction of Kálvin Square. Tickets can also be used after transfers, but they must be validated on all vehicles.
