MODEM Art CenterThe Center for Modern and Contemporary Art (MODEM) welcomes visitors to a new solo exhibition at Project Space on Thursday, September 26 from 5.00 p.m.
Swiss photographer Tim Rod presents “Tell me about your Future, I Show you my Past,” created in collaboration with the Hungarian Jewish Museum and Archives. Through the lens of his own family history, Rod explores profound themes of memory, identity, and loss.
Curated by Edward Kovács, with co-curation by Balázs Som, museologist at the Hungarian Jewish Museum and Archives, the exhibition’s opening will feature remarks from Kata Vizi (CEO of MODEM), the curators, and the artist himself.
At the heart of the exhibition is the story of Rod’s great-grandfather, Hungarian Jewish philosopher Ludwig Stein, born in Erdőbénye.
Rod’s research began as part of a residency at the Robert Capa Center for Contemporary Photography, where he retraced his ancestor’s life through site visits and archival exploration.
The exhibition brings fragments of the past to life through various photo documentations, collages and object groups.
Further information about the exhibition is available via Modem’s website.
Step into a deeply personal journey through history, memory, and art — and discover how the past continues to shape the future.
