Former and new students of the Ady Grammar School students ran together in the Great Forest
The Adymater running race was held for the second time on Wednesday afternoon, October 8, 2025. The program was organized by the Adymater Foundation and the Ady Endre Grammar School in Debrecen. After a short warm-up, the students were able to complete the one-and-a-half-kilometer distance around Lake Békás.
Those who reached the finish line earned points for their class for Ady Day. The event is a sporty community program for the Ady students and their teachers, and former students of the school were also invited back for the good-natured run.
In connection with the event, Deputy Mayor Diána Széles drew attention to the fact that someone can feel “cívis-minded” if they have ties, for example, to their schools, a particular part of town, or a cultural site. “I believe it is very important to nurture these relationships. It should be emphasized that the former Ady students are also here, running, some walking or walking their dogs, but they are here and live together with their old grammar school,” said the deputy mayor.
