Entrepreneurs of the Year and County Prima Award winners to be announced soon
The public can also vote for the candidates, and an important announcement for local companies is expected at the gala.
Debrecen will once again dress in festive attire on November 8: the biggest event in the county’s economic and cultural life, the Prima Gala will be held in the Great Hall of the Kölcsey Center. The Entrepreneur of the Year awards, the County Prima awards, and another significant professional recognition will be presented at the gala.
Károly Balogh, the Hajdú-Bihar County President of the VOSZ (National Association of Entrepreneurs and Employers), emphasized that the Prima Gala is about more than just an award ceremony every year.
“This is the biggest meeting of the entrepreneurial sphere, a real awards ball, where we are preparing several innovations this year. We are also making an important announcement about the new supplier program of VOSZ, which will offer a good opportunity for the family businesses of the region to connect directly with large international companies,” he said.
Entrepreneur of the Year—in five categories
The Entrepreneur of the Year awards are presented in the fields of industry, agriculture, trade, innovation and hospitality. The entrepreneur who will represent the county at the national Entrepreneur of the Year award ceremony in Budapest will be selected from among the five category winners.
Responsible Multinational Company Award
This year, the Responsible Multinational Company Award will be presented for the second time. This title can be awarded to the large international company that has created the most opportunities for the region’s family businesses in a given year to enter the value chain of the multinational company as a competitive company and become a recognized supplier there.
Prima Awards—A celebration of culture
The county Prima Awards are decided by a professional body, which includes previous award winners and key players. The decision-making process is two-stage: first, winners are selected in 10 categories, then the three Prima Awards are selected, as well as a special award and an audience award based on the audience’s votes.
The 2025 Prima category winners and nominees are:
Literature: Dr. Tamás Bényei
Theatre, film, and dance: Réka Tenki
Fine and applied arts: Zsuzsa Szász
Science: Dr. Ferenc Kun
Education and Public Education: Veronika Végh – Szabolcs Csáki
Architecture: István Lengyel
Sports: Ákos Tibor Komáromi and Ákos Tiborné Komáromi
Folk Art and Public Culture: Anikó Asbóth
Music: Zoltán Tordai
Awareness and Media: Ferenc Váradi
The audience award is given to the candidate who receives the most votes from the 10 category winners.
The county’s biggest business event
The Prima Gala is now known not only as an awards ceremony but also as one of the county’s most important social events. The awards ceremony is accompanied by a rich cultural program every year, in which local artists and nationally known performers perform.
The evening’s elegantly dressed guests will take part in both a festive celebration and an elegant ball, aimed at bringing together business, cultural, and public figures.
The event is by invitation only; this year the National Association of Entrepreneurs and Employers, the Hajdú-Bihar County Branch of VOSZ, is expecting 450 guests.
The anticipation is high: on November 8, not only will the winners of the year be revealed, but also what new international opportunities the future holds for the region’s family businesses.
