More carriages will be added to trains arriving at Debrecen station this weekend
Train and long-distance bus travel is expected to be much busier than usual this weekend due to All Saints’ Day on Saturday, All Souls’ Day on Sunday, and the end of the autumn break, according to information from MÁV.
Buses operate according to the holiday schedule, trains operate according to the Saturday schedule. MÁV asks passengers to plan their journey in time, to find out about the holiday schedule before departure, and to use the MÁV+ application or the renewed emma.mav.hu website when planning.
It is worth purchasing tickets in advance as soon as possible or using the vending machines or online ticket exchange, for which passengers can also use the MÁV+ application. Seat tickets purchased in advance help MÁV group’s work, as this makes it easier to plan reinforcements and they can provide additional capacity during the weekend based on the tickets sold, the company draws attention to.
The morning and afternoon InterCity trains, which are more frequent and used in terms of passenger traffic – especially at the end of the autumn break, on November 2 – will operate with more cars than usual on general weekends.
The Tópart service between Budapest and Nagykanizsa, the Balaton service between Budapest and Keszthely, the Napfény service between Budapest, Cegléd, and Szeged, the Savaria service between Budapest, Győr, and Szombathely, Dráva, Mura, and the Budapest–Pécs route Mecsek InterCity trains will be operated by the MÁV Group with multiple carriages.
The MÁV National Emergency Centre monitors train and passenger traffic; when necessary, it takes operational measures to help passengers reach their destinations and maintain train services. If necessary, MÁVBUSES are also on standby so that all passengers and groups can reach their destinations comfortably.
VOLÁN buses will operate on both days of the memorial weekend according to the public holiday traffic schedule.
Between October 30 and November 2, free buses will also operate in Hajdúszoboszló during the increased cemetery traffic with the number 3 sign.
