Wrap yourself in holiday cheer and join the Ugly Sweater Charity Run in Debrecen! The event is back for the fifth time on December 6, where charity goes hand in hand with joyful atmosphere and the pleasure of movement.

About the event

Participants will run through the beautiful Advent Fair in downtown Debrecen on 3.5 km and 1 km courses. All they need to do is put on their funniest Christmas sweater, hat, scarf, and bring along their donations.

The charity run aims not only to promote community sport but also to brighten the Christmas of disadvantaged families and children living in Debrecen and its surroundings. Donations may include non‑perishable food items and chocolate with at least six months’ shelf life. These can be handed in at the donation point located at Baltazár Dezső Square on December 6 between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00.p.m. The donations will be delivered to families through the staff of the Debrecen Charity Board.

Route – 1 km: Baltazár Dezső Square – Hunyadi Street – Kálvin Square – Kossuth Square – Múzeum Street – Déri Square – Baltazár Dezső Square

Distances: 

1 km and 3.5 km (non‑certified)

No age limit, but children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Dress code: Christmas sweater, comfortable sportswear.

• Free, no entry fee, but registration required.

Registration:

• Online pre‑registration until December 4 (Thursday) 4:00 p.m. via electronic form
• On‑site registration at Baltazár Dezső Square on December 6 between 10:00 a.m. –10:45 a.m.
• Attendees are kindly asked to arrive on time, as registrations can only be accepted until 10:45 a.m.

Conditions of participation:

• Online pre‑registration or on‑site registration
• Adult supervision required for participants under 16
• Christmas sweater and comfortable sportswear
• Acceptance and compliance with event rules
• Participation is at everyone’s own risk. Organizers reserve the right to make changes at any time.
