Another street gets solid paving in Júliatelep
Within the framework of the D2030 programme, road constructions implemented at the initiative of the public will continue in Debrecen in 2025, similarly to previous years. The development of the first phase of Tőr Street in the Júliatelep area is already well underway.
As part of the investment, the 110-metre-long, 3-meter-wide road surface will be created on the section between 28 Tőr Street and 42 with a half-metre-wide pavement and a half-metre-wide sidewalk on both sides.
The works began on June 12, 2025, with geodetic surveys, the construction of a rainwater drainage network, the excavation of existing utilities, demolition and earthworks, and construction has been ongoing since then.
The municipal representative of the area, István Becsky, said that the most important request of the residents was the construction of a solid road, which will now be fulfilled within the framework of the first phase. The representative highlighted that temporary traffic restrictions are in place on the affected road section during the construction period and therefore asked drivers to drive according to the temporary road signs posted rather than out of habit.
Depending on weather conditions, the investment is expected to be completed by the end of July 2025, but the contractor aims to be ready for handover earlier than that. The gross cost of the development is HUF 40.6 million.
