Art enthusiasts are invited to immerse themselves in a truly unique visual experience at the Méliusz Juhász Péter Library, where Czech painter and illustrator Pavel Pražák—also known by his artistic pseudonym Mae Sara—unveils his latest collection of works. The exhibition offers a captivating blend of imagination and innovation, showcasing Pražák’s distinctive style that merges traditional watercolor artistry with cutting-edge technology.
Pražák is not only recognized for his evocative paintings and illustrations but also for his contributions to the Czech literary scene through his own publishing house, which specializes in limited-edition publications. His artworks reflect a remarkable synergy between classical techniques and modern experimentation. Notably, several pieces featured in the exhibition incorporate internal light sources, adding a dynamic and immersive dimension to the viewing experience.
The exhibition titled “Parallel Realities” was opened on Friday in the library’s ground floor exhibition space as part of the cultural cooperation between Debrecen and its Czech twin city, Brno.
Deputy Mayor István Puskás recalled at the opening that earlier in the spring, Debrecen artist Péter Donka had the opportunity to work and exhibit in Brno. Now the Debrecen “leg” of this exchange program has arrived, when in September we have a nice guest from Brno, and we can see his exhibition.
The exhibition is open to the public and can be visited until October 3.
