Debrecen Zoo awaits the public with an expanded programme in 2025

Debrecen Zoo will offer a wide and varied programme of events in addition to its traditional and popular events. In recent years, the park has increasingly focused on diversifying its portfolio of services, expanding and renewing the quality of events that fit the profile of the cultural park. As a result, last year they welcomed nearly 50,000 guests specifically for their events. In 2025, the park, which is open every day of the year, is preparing 117 days of events and a number of exciting new features for its returning and new guests.

Among the highlights, one of the most anticipated events of the spring programme is the Easter theme park season, which starts with Easter, following the winter events (Family Birds Day, Bear Carnival). New to the spring programme will be Lúdas Matyi’s (Hungarian narrative poem protagonist) May Day and the 1st Charity Run, both linked to the anniversary of the founding of Debrecen Zoo.

After the “La Dolce Vita” Mediterranean Days, the May programme will conclude with the inevitable Children’s Day long weekend. This summer’s focus is on the Amusement Park, which is expanding with new attractions and night experiences. In addition to Fantasy Day, which was launched last year, there will be five evening amusement park attractions. The public can experience the exclusive, special atmosphere of the park’s summer gardens on evening walks through the zoo. Galiba, the largest children’s festival in the region, offers five days of unforgettable entertainment for the whole family. While the deservedly popular Night of the Zoos event provides a worthy end to the summer.

The rich offer of events does not end in autumn, as they celebrate the diversity of the created world with, among others, the Small Train Weekend, Animal World Week, and Asia Days. The magic of lights will be brought to visitors by the renewed themed attraction of the Garden of Lights from mid-October while the nightmarish programmes of Halloween provide thrills and entertainment with never-before-seen visual elements. The Winter Magic event at the Amusement Park, which was first held in 2024, will offer an even more magical atmosphere and unique experiences during the winter break this year. Then the last zoo program of the year, the Christmas of the Animals, will close the year 2025. Debrecen Zoo not only strives for relaxation and entertainment, but also pays special attention to environmental education and sensitisation. Therefore, throughout the year, guests will not only be able to encounter their programs in the Park area, but they also strive to take the active message of love of nature to as many people as possible through their outings.

Event sales will also be renewed.

Early bird tickets for major events will be available from the 1st of March, allowing visitors to secure their seats at a discounted price for the most popular events of the year in good time. Furthermore, those interested can still purchase season tickets at last year’s prices until the 15th of March.

The programme list is available here.
