Details Revealed of New Nature Trail in Debrecen
As announced by Mayor László Papp last weekend, a nature trail will soon welcome residents and visitors to Józsa alongside the recently completed running track, event space and playground,. Construction will begin shortly, and the trail could be completed by the end of autumn, or by early spring at the latest.
Water from the Tisza reached the Józsa section of the Tócó Stream following the construction of the first phase of the Civaqua programme. The idea of creating a nature trail there to promote environmental awareness was subsequently developed. According to the tender documentation available in the Public Procurement Bulletin, the so-called Klastrompart nature trail will be established along the Tócó, in the green strip between Klastrompart Row and Bocskai István Road. The area is a locally protected natural area and forms part of the Tócó Valley HUHN 20122 Natura 2000 site.
Accordingly, the investment is subject to approval by the nature conservation authority. The necessary official permit for the development has been granted by the designated first-instance authority.
The nature trail will have a linear layout and will be accessible from both ends. It will have seven stations, each featuring one or two information boards and an educational logic game panel. These will provide concise information on air quality protection, while also introducing the plant and animal species found in the area.
The station areas will be covered with bark. The first and final, seventh stations will have only an information board, while the other stations will supplement their information boards with additional interactive elements. The nature trail will also complement the existing measuring station of the nearby Environmental Monitoring System.
A so-called exercise deck will be created at the third station. The fourth station will feature four bespoke, log-effect tables with eight accompanying benches and engraved animal graphics. In addition, four chalkboards with supporting structures will be installed in the small bark-covered open space. Three movement-development devices will be installed at the fifth station, while the sixth will feature two bespoke playhouses equipped with interactive educational elements. The trail will also have waste bins and small wave benches.
The municipality will provide the graphic and professional content, while the contractor will prepare the manufacturing plans for the nature trail elements.
