Developers from Debrecen presented themselves at the Portfolio Property Investment Forum
Debrecen, as the most dynamically developing city in Eastern Hungary, showed a strong presence at this year’s Portfolio Property Investment Forum event, which was held on September 23 at the InterContinental Hotel in Budapest.
According to a press release from EDC Debrecen, the event brought together the most important opinion leaders and decision-makers of the domestic real estate market, and emphasized real estate development, the office market, investments, and financing issues.
Focus on Debrecen
The city’s leading developers appeared at the conference with a joint stand and program: Debreceni Vagyonkezelő Zrt.(Debrecen Asset Management), Dryvit Profi Kft., Szinorg Universal Zrt., and XANGA Investment & Development Group. The appearance and professional cooperation were coordinated by EDC Debrecen. Their goal is clear: to present all the investment and development opportunities that arise from the economic potential of the city under the slogan “Together for the development of Debrecen”.
Moderated by Zoltán Pécskay, CEO of EDC Debrecen, local developers presented the city through a panel discussion titled “At the Gate of New Opportunities: The Impact of Economic Development on Real Estate Development in Debrecen”. Particular emphasis was placed on the changes that have occurred in the region and how these are transforming the opportunities for real estate development.
Participants:
- Gábor Krizsán, Business Development Director, Dryvit Profi Kft.
- Virág Marossy, CEO, Debreceni Vagyonkezelő Zrt.
- Zsolt Nyitrai, Risk Management Director, XANGA Investment & Development Group
- Sándor Szabó, Deputy CEO and Board Member, Szinorg Universal Zrt.
The discussion highlighted the extent to which Debrecen’s economic growth—including large technological and industrial investments, livability, and conference tourism, as well as the continuous development of infrastructure (transport, housing, and services)—has transformed real estate development strategies in the city. The panelists outlined which areas have high investment needs and potential, what challenges developers face, and what aspects need special attention in the future.
The joint stand of Debrecen players at this forum was not only an opportunity to introduce themselves but also a symbol of the fact that “Together for the development of Debrecen” is a strategic goal towards which the city’s players—developers, local government, companies, and educational institutions—work in close cooperation. The Property Investment Forum 2025 highlighted that Debrecen is no longer just a rural metropolis: it is a regional economic center, with significant industrial and real estate development potential, an outstanding educational background, and high-quality livability and recreation opportunities.
