EcoPro and Debrecen Fire Service to Hold Fire Safety Exercise
EcoPro BM Hungary has announced that it will hold a site familiarisation session, a scenario-based emergency exercise and a site-wide fire drill at its Debrecen plant in cooperation with the Debrecen Professional Fire Service on 17 July. The purpose of the exercise is to test emergency response procedures, improve the fire service’s familiarity with the site, and practise the safe and orderly evacuation of employees.
During the exercise, several events may be noticeable to local residents:
- an alarm signal will be broadcast over the site’s public address system;
- several fire engines from the Debrecen Professional Fire Service will be present at the site;
- during one phase of the exercise, fire service vehicles will move around the site using blue lights and sirens;
- a simulated incident will take place at one of the office buildings, during which a smoke machine will also be used.
EcoPro BM Hungary emphasised that the smoke and increased fire service presence are solely part of the exercise and do not indicate a real emergency. All elements of the exercise have been planned in advance and will take place under controlled conditions in compliance with the applicable safety regulations.
Exercises of this kind play an important role in ensuring that, in the event of a real emergency, both the site and the professional emergency services can respond quickly, effectively and in a coordinated manner. To this end, EcoPro BM Hungary works regularly with disaster management specialists, placing particular emphasis on the safety of its employees, the local community and the environment.
