MODEM X NSNP: AN ALL WHITE PARTY CELEBRATION (18 September)

Coming up on 18 September is one of the most special nights of the entire year at the contemporary arts centre as an all-white dress code party awaits those who wish to leave everything gray behind from 8:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m.

MODEM x Special Effects (19 September)

In collaboration with the Special Effects team, MODEM transform the museum’s spaces into a live, futuristic time capsule, where memories of the past meet the visual dimensions of the future on 19 September. Alongside this spectacular experience,  visitors are also invited to join a series of exciting guided tours.

Interactive Focus | Sliding Screen: Take a closer look, zoom in and discover five artworks selected from the MODEM collection – in a completely different way! Explore them through a dynamically changing, interactive installation.

The DNA of Culture | Digital Book: As soon as you enter the foyer, you’ll step into a story of continuity. Browse through the cultural history and heritage of Debrecen’s museum quarter!

We’ve Got the Picture! | Interactive LED Wall: A pulsating wall of light preserving the most memorable moments of the past 20 years. Look for your own face, your friends, or the night when you first visited MODEM.

Generational Time Gate | Immersive LED Cube: Step into another reality and discover this special light-and-sound cube up close. As the outside world disappears, you’ll be surrounded by the visual memories of your own generation, bringing our Hanyas vagy? exhibition back to life.

Mirror of the Future | AI Mirror: Stop for a moment and look into the digital mirror. Artificial intelligence doesn’t simply show you your reflection – it transforms your presence into a living, constantly evolving work of art.

The technological journey through time will be complemented throughout the day by one exclusive behind-the-scenes tour and four guided exhibition tours, offering a closer look at Special Effects’ futuristic technology as well as MODEM’s current exhibitions:

14:30–15:00 – Past–Present–Future – behind-the-scenes tour and presentation with Kata Vizi, Managing Director of MODEM

15:00–15:45 – Guided tour of Cultivators of Life / Életművelők with curator Krisztián Gábor Török, in Hungarian

16:00–17:15 – Guided tour of Stitching Time / Idővarrás with artists Mariann Imre and Sára Richter, in Hungarian

16:00–17:15 – Guided tour of Cultivators of Life / Életművelők with curator Krisztián Gábor Török, in English

17:15–18:15 – Guided tour of MODEM20 with chief curator Tamás Don and MODEM 20 partners, in Hungarian

+ 15:00–19:00 – Children can take part in a treasure hunt among Special Effects’ futuristic installations.

The behind-the-scenes tour is free of charge; tickets are required for the guided tours.

The exhibition spaces will be open on Saturday from 12:00 to 19:00.
