The Debrecen Alumni Festival is a vibrant, all-day celebration of community, memories, and university pride, in 2025 taking place on September 20 at the University of Debrecen’s Main Building and surrounding square.

 This year marks the second edition of the festival, organized with the aim of creating a lasting tradition that brings together former students and staff from the University and its predecessor institutions.

Programmes

• – Health screenings: blood sugar, blood pressure, BMI, body fat, dietary advice, ultrasound, eye examination + DEKOM medical and rescue team
• – Alumni Carnival play park: folk playhouse, skill games, balloon clown, face painting, henna, glitter tattoo, hair braiding
• – Creative craft corner: felting, leatherwork
•  – Baby and relaxation corner
• –  Campus tours: main building walk + campus bus tour
• – Exhibition: “Heads of State signed – world-famous autographs” with book presentation and signing
• – Concerts, performers: RépaRetekMogyoró children’s concert, Moldova Gyula trio, Android band,  Sound Garage, Popular Music Institute concerts/ classical music in the Liszt Hall and cheerleader show with the Marching Band brass band.

Faculty Street – Faculty programs:

• TTK: “Get to know your professor!” quiz, photo booth, math playhouse, “Stranger in a Bag” children’s quiz, chemistry and physics experiments, lab demonstrations, Botanical Garden walk, lectures
• Faculty of Dentistry: faculty history exhibition, children’s programs (plasticine filling, puzzle, smile memory), pool, diagnosis recognition, dental activity
  Faculty of Health Sciences: exhibition, senior joy dance, elderly simulator, healthy lifestyle quiz, interactive presentations, resuscitation
  Faculty of Pharmacy: ointment and medicine preparation
  Faculty of Law and Political Science: faculty exhibition, quizzes, informal discussions, class meetings, “city-walking lawyer training” tour

Stage programs:

• – ÁJK (Faculty of Law and Political Science)- conversation with alumni about their memories and with the instructors
• – ETK (Faculty of Health Science) – lectures on healthcare, nutrition, demography, nurse training
• – TTK – spectacular chemistry and physics, roundtable discussions with alumni

Several food and drink stands will offer delicacies, from street food to local specialties, and a buffet lunch awaits visitors at the university cafeteria. This is also a great opportunity for everyone to return to their favorite university cafeteria dishes – or try new flavors.
