One of the Debrecen Flower Carnival’s most successful community events in recent years, Schaeffler Night Ride, returns on 18 August with a brand-new route, offering cyclists an experience almost twice as long as before.

The popularity of Schaeffler Night Ride continues to grow year after year, with increasing numbers of people joining the spectacular evening procession, which has become one of the Debrecen Flower Carnival’s most popular community events.

As in previous years, the aim of the Schaeffler Night Ride is to bring people together to promote cycling and sustainable transport while creating one of the Flower Carnival’s most spectacular evening attractions, as thousands of bicycles decorated with lights and flowers make their way through the streets of Debrecen city centre.

Programme

7:30 p.m.: Assembly in front of the Great Reformed Church
7:30–7:50 p.m.: DJ Dew Tailor
7:50–8:00 p.m.: Cyclists line up for the procession
8:00 p.m.: Ride departs

Route: Kossuth Square (in front of the Great Reformed Church) – Piac Street – Petőfi Square – Erzsébet Street – József Antall Street – István Tisza Street – Hatvan Street – Kossuth Square (in front of the Great Reformed Church).

Participation is free of charge but online registration in advance is required.

Participants are asked to arrive with a roadworthy bicycle equipped with appropriate lights. Children under the age of 16 must use the required protective equipment and be accompanied under parental supervision.
