Modern Drama “Finale” with English Subtitles

Csokonai Fórum Csapó utca 30, Debrecen, Hungary

“Finale”, a modern drama about the devil of the social media, will be played with English subtitles on October 30 from 7 p.m. in the Árpád Kóti Hall of Csokonai Forum. A YouTube channel caught the attention of the writer and director, Andrea Pass and prompted her to write:  "I started watching the videos because there was something deeply disturbing about it, I wanted to understand it. What this particular channel conveys for many is the desired perfection, beauty, prosperity, love, and harmony. Then I ran into a TikTok actor, which is the other end of the scale of self-centred content producers, the kind of media person who, thanks to his spectacular vulnerability and fallibility, quickly became the target of the viewers. These two endpoints made me interested in how I can portray them as the two endpoints of an almost mythical story in a drama. The third "protagonist", the socially vulnerable boy who is always searching for the truth, who is sold by commercial television as a stupid child, is somewhere in the middle of the story”, she explains. This is how the strange universe of social media characters is assembled, which does not let the viewer's attention fade. […]

Mozaik Med Halloween Community Run

Halloween community run organisers ask participants (who can) to bring a carved pumpkin and a candlestick, and venturesome people can even wear a costume. The community running is a fantastic experience. Runners can meet new faces, who share the desire to run. Others are also welcome to come and check out what is so enjoyable in running. The training schedule is assembled by a coach from week to week, and the runnings are guided by qualified running ambassadors. The community operates with a medical background, so if runners have any health issues, they will try to help. Every week there are 5 training sessions, from walking to professional level. Each group is guided by its own running ambassador, so it’s worth coming as beginners and regular runners are both welcome. The Members of Mozaik Med Sports Club get a free embroidered technical T-shirt. The training sessions in Debrecen are supported by the regional organisation of the Hungarian Medical Chamber (MOK), which means that MOK members get the free T-shirt after 5 participation in trainings (independently  Sports Club membership). Exhibition “Beautiful Times” by contemporary painter, Kata Bereczki

Kölcsey Center Bethlen u., 4026, Debrecen, Hungary

The Főnix Rendezvényszervező Közhasznú Nonprofit Kft respectfully invites visitors to the Bényi Gallery in Kölcsey Center for the opening of the exhibition on November 2, 2023 at 6 p.m.  The exhibition will be opened by art historian Tünde Sipos, the curator of the exhibition. In Kata Bereczki's solo exhibition, new aspects of the well-known series prevail. The characteristics of her paintings are the light atmosphere, that feels good to be among them and it is easy to relate to them. However, deeper contents also emerge in them, as they capture essential phenomena from the lived periods of human life. Therefore, the selection presented in the Bényi Gallery mixes the historical references, object culture and temporal characteristics of the retro era and the present, but this time we can observe them through the characteristics of the ages. In the exhibition space, three consecutive stages of life are displayed: childhood, young adulthood and old age. The paintings actually form a timeline on the walls of the gallery. In the individual blocks, typical scenes of the ages can be seen. The exhibition can be visited for free. Location: Kölcsey Center, 1-3 Hunyadi Street Date: 2-24 November, daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., […]

Contemporary painter’s exhibition opened in Debrecen

Kölcsey Center Bethlen u., 4026, Debrecen, Hungary

Bereczki Kata's “Nice Times” exhibition can be seen at the Bényi Gallery of the Kölcsey Centre in Debrecen. Kata Bereczki, painter, graduated from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts and lives and works in Nagykovácsi. The pictures are figurative and often tell stories. “Most of the time, I deal with subjects that many of us can relate to and that evoke memories in many of us. The facelessness of people's faces helps me to make the pictures and their stories not related to specific people but to allow each viewer's imagination to add its own characters to them,”  the artist says of his works. The exhibition will be open and free of charge until the 24th of November during the opening hours of the Kölcsey Centre, daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and until 7 p.m. during evening events.
