Exhibition “Beautiful Times” by contemporary painter, Kata Bereczki

Kölcsey Center Bethlen u., 4026, Debrecen, Hungary

The Főnix Rendezvényszervező Közhasznú Nonprofit Kft respectfully invites visitors to the Bényi Gallery in Kölcsey Center for the opening of the exhibition on November 2, 2023 at 6 p.m.  The exhibition will be opened by art historian Tünde Sipos, the curator of the exhibition. In Kata Bereczki's solo exhibition, new aspects of the well-known series prevail. The characteristics of her paintings are the light atmosphere, that feels good to be among them and it is easy to relate to them. However, deeper contents also emerge in them, as they capture essential phenomena from the lived periods of human life. Therefore, the selection presented in the Bényi Gallery mixes the historical references, object culture and temporal characteristics of the retro era and the present, but this time we can observe them through the characteristics of the ages. In the exhibition space, three consecutive stages of life are displayed: childhood, young adulthood and old age. The paintings actually form a timeline on the walls of the gallery. In the individual blocks, typical scenes of the ages can be seen. The exhibition can be visited for free. Location: Kölcsey Center, 1-3 Hunyadi Street Date: 2-24 November, daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., […]

Contemporary painter’s exhibition opened in Debrecen

Kölcsey Center Bethlen u., 4026, Debrecen, Hungary

Bereczki Kata's “Nice Times” exhibition can be seen at the Bényi Gallery of the Kölcsey Centre in Debrecen. Kata Bereczki, painter, graduated from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts and lives and works in Nagykovácsi. The pictures are figurative and often tell stories. “Most of the time, I deal with subjects that many of us can relate to and that evoke memories in many of us. The facelessness of people's faces helps me to make the pictures and their stories not related to specific people but to allow each viewer's imagination to add its own characters to them,”  the artist says of his works. The exhibition will be open and free of charge until the 24th of November during the opening hours of the Kölcsey Centre, daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and until 7 p.m. during evening events. Dance Performance of the Csokonai National Theater

Csokonai Fórum Csapó utca 30, Debrecen, Hungary

"Blue men ... and white" - Dance Performance of the Dance Artists of the Csokonai National Theater. Although they have already performed at the festive gala of the Csokonai Theatre, the dance artists of the Csokonai National Theater will present themselves for the first time at the MagdaFest with an independent performance. The first part of Blue men…tells about the secrets of the "crown of creation", explores the mysteries of male life in the interpretation of three excellent dancers, who are also special individuals. The show is dominated by the blue of the sea, the limitless depth where (male) power is born. But it is also easy to get lost in it, because it is the source of countless doubts, dreams, anxiety and joy. Bringing these to the surface, and then the desire to overcome them, is a mystery, a mystery that the performance brings to life. The second part of the performance  "...and white" rhymes with all this and interprets the feelings of being a woman as a pair. Five special figures appear before us, who are the female substance of today's world. They are the imprints of how women experience drive and aspiration. In order to reach the […]

Martin’s Day Goose Feast

St. Martin's Day, known as "Szent Márton nap" in Hungarian, is a traditional holiday celebrated in Hungary on November 11th. This holiday has historical, religious, and cultural significance in Hungarian society and is often associated with the beginning of winter and the customs related to it. Here are some key aspects of St. Martin's Day in Hungary: Feast of St. Martin: St. Martin's Day is named after St. Martin of Tours, a patron saint known for his acts of charity and for sharing his cloak with a beggar. He is also associated with the blessing of the new wine, which is an important aspect of the celebration. Wine and Gastronomy: St. Martin's Day is often referred to as "the feast of the new wine" or "the day of the goose." It marks the time when the year's new wine is traditionally tasted and blessed. Roasted goose is a popular dish on this day, and it is often accompanied by red cabbage and dumplings. This meal is a central part of the celebration. Harvest and Thanksgiving: St. Martin's Day is seen as a time to celebrate the successful harvest of grapes and other agricultural produce. It's an occasion for giving thanks […]

There will be a charity pet photo shoot again this year

Last year, photographer Rudolf Jakkel was waiting for those who thought they would like to help the animals living in the shelter at Lake Vekeri - the money raised for the photo shoot was entirely donated to the "Together for Animals" ( „Együtt az Állatokért”)  Animal Protection Association to help them settle their medical bills - this time his studio will be the venue for the noble event. This year, it's not just dogs that he expects to see in front of his camera.  As it says on Facebook, besides dogs, "you can bring kittens, hamsters, guinea pigs, ferrets or any pet that lives with you as a family member". It's important to note that only house-trained animals are allowed to participate, and only vaccinated, healthy ones. The charity photoshoot will take place on Saturday and Sunday, 11th-12th November, from 10 am to 6 pm in the studio at Attila Square 3. Please bring your dog on a leash for the photo shoot and other animals in carriers, the photographer asked. The organisers ask everyone to register and arrive on time, as everyone has a quarter of an hour, and being late could mean the whole day is overcast. One […]
