Final Works and Traffic Restrictions at Junction of Vámospércsi Road, Hétvezér Street and Budai Nagy Antal Street

The first stage of the capacity expansion project on Vámospércsi Road has entered its final phase. Over the next six weeks, motorists should expect lane closures and traffic restrictions, which the contractor has deliberately scheduled during the summer school holidays to minimise disruption.

The first stage of the capacity expansion project on Vámospércsi Road is being carried out as part of a project by the Ministry of Transport and Investment. In connection with the junction improvements, final works will be carried out over the next one to one and a half months, involving various traffic restrictions and lane closures. The relocation of busy bus stops, the laying of the final asphalt wearing course and the application of permanent road markings have all been scheduled during the school holidays to reduce the impact on traffic as much as possible.

Road users should expect the following phased works and traffic restrictions during the coming weeks:

Phase 1: 13 July 2026 – 24 July 2026

• Faraktár Street (between Iskola Street and Kolónia Street): The left-hand carriageway towards the city centre will reopen with two traffic lanes. At the same time, pavement construction will begin on the right-hand carriageway, where traffic will temporarily be reduced to a single lane due to the closure of the outside lane.

• Right-turn restriction on Faraktár Street: The right-turn lane from Faraktár Street into Hétvezér Street will be closed, so turning right at this junction will not be possible during this period.

• Hétvezér Street: Due to bus stop construction and lane works on the school side of the street, traffic will temporarily operate with one lane in each direction.

• Vámospércsi Road: The outside lane of the right-hand carriageway will be closed for bus stop and pavement construction. Traffic approaching from the direction of Vámospércs will still be able to turn left, continue straight ahead or turn right.

• Faraktár Street (between Komáromi Csipkés György Street and Budai Nagy Antal Street): Traffic will initially be reduced to one lane due to bus stop construction, after which two lanes will be available again towards the Lidl store.

Overall, these temporary traffic arrangements mean that one lane in each direction will remain open through the junction at all times (with changing lane diversions), although it will not be possible to turn right from Faraktár Street into Hétvezér Street.

Phase 2: 20 July 2026 – 7 August 2026

In addition to the works described above, Budai Nagy Antal Street will be closed in its entirety while the final asphalt wearing course is laid, traffic signal works are completed, permanent traffic management equipment is installed and the final road markings are applied.

During the works, temporary traffic restrictions and diversions will be in place on the affected roads. Drivers are asked not to rely on their usual routes, but instead to follow the temporary road signs and traffic management measures in place and to drive with extra care.

The municipality thanks residents and all road users for their patience and understanding during these works.
