Local public transport will operate as follows during the carnival on August 20

DKV Zrt.’s services will transport passengers on Wednesday, August 20, according to a holiday schedule.

Due to the event, several services will operate on diversion routes, stopping at the stops located there. Tram service will be suspended during the evening programs, and replacement buses marked 1V and 2V will operate on both lines.

Tram transport

Tram 1:

From the start of service on Line 1 until the end of the carnival parade, expected to be at 2:00 p.m., trams will not be running, but they will operate on the full line between 2:00 p.m. and 4:18 p.m. During evening events, from 4:26 p.m. until closing, tram replacement buses marked 1V will transport passengers between the Grand Station – University – Clinical Center – University – Grand Station.

The route of the 1V tram replacement buses: the GRAND STATION – Wesselényi Street – Szent Anna Street – Klaipeda Street – Burgundia Street – Rákóczi Street – Péterfia Street – Bem Square – Simonyi Street – Nagyerdei Boulevard – CLINICAL CENTER – Nagyerdei Boulevard – Simonyi Street – Bem Square – Péterfia Street – Rákóczi Street – Burgundia Street – Klaipeda Street – Szent Anna Street – Wesselényi Street – GRAND STATION.

The stops of the 1V tram replacement buses: Grand Station (bus 10 pick-up point), Wesselényi Street, Attila Square, Klaipeda Street, Burgundia Street, Rákóczi Street, Kálvin Square (temporary stop), Eötvös Street (tram stop), Bem Square (tram stop), Nagyerdei Boulevard (tram stop), University (bus stop), Clinical Center (tram stop), University (tram stop), Medgyessy Promenade (tram stop), Andaházi Street (tram stop), Bem Square (tram stop), Honvéd Street (tram stop), Kálvin Square (bus stop), Burgundia Street, Klaipeda Street, Szent Anna Street, Wesselényi Street, and Grand Station. 

Tram 2:

Trams will be suspended on line 2 from the start of operation until 12:00 p.m. Services will resume on the entire line from 12:00 p.m.  to 4:08 p.m.  On August 20, between 03:24 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. and between 4:14 p.m. and closing, tram 2V will replace trams between Grand Station and Doberdó Street.

The route of the 2V tram replacement buses: the GRAND STATION – Erzsébet Street – Antall József Street – Tisza István Street – Nagy Imre Street – Csemete Street – Dózsa György Street – Nádor Street – Thomas Mann Street – Mikszáth Kálmán Street – Békessy Béla Street – Böszörményi Street – DOBERDÓ Street – Kartács Street – Békessy Béla Street – Mikszáth Kálmán Street – Thomas Mann Street – Nádor Street – Dózsa György Street – Csemete Street – Nagy Imre Street – Tisza István Street – Antall József Street – Erzsébet Street – GRAND STATION.

The stops of the 2V tram replacement buses: Grand Station (bus 10 pick-up point), Barna Street, Antall József Street, Tisza István Street, Hatvan Street, Csemete Street, Dózsa György Street, Nádor Street, Saint László Greek Catholic Grammar School, DAB Headquarters, Mikszáth Kálmán Street (temporary stop), Békessy Béla Street, Árpád Vezér Elementary School, Doberdó Street, Csokonai Vitéz Mihály Grammar School, Károlyi Mihály Street (temporary stop), DAB headquarters, Szent László Greek Catholic High School, Dózsa György Street, Ibolya Street (temporary stop), Csemete Street, Nagy Imre Street, Hatvan Street, Tisza István Street, Antall József Street, MÁV office, Grand Station.

Trolleybus transport

Trolleybus number 3:

From the start of operation until 07:45 a.m., the services will operate on the usual route, and between 07:45 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., the trolleybuses numbered 3 will transport passengers to both terminals on the route of the trolleybuses numbered 5. Between 12:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. they will run on the original route again, then from 7:00 p.m. until the end of the evening parade on the route of trolleybus 5.

Trolleybus 4:

The services will run on the original route from the start of operation until 07:45 a.m., then between 07:45 a.m. -12:00 p.m.  and between 7:00 p.m.  and the departure of the carnival procession they will run on the route: Segner Square – Nyugati Street – Külsővásártér – Erzsébet Street – Wesselényi Street – Hajnal Street – Rakovszky Dániel Street – Munkácsy Mihály Street – Víztorony Street – Ótemető Street – Rakovszky Dániel Street – Hajnal Street – Wesselényi Street – Erzsébet Street – Külsővásártér – Nyugati Street – Segner Square.

5 and 5A Trolleybuses:

During the carnival events, the services will operate as usual. There will be no traffic restrictions on the line.

Bus transportation

10 and 10Y buses:

From 7.00 a.m. until the carnival procession passes, the route of the buses is: Grand Station – Erzsébet Street – Antall József Street – Széchenyi Street – Nyugati Street – Hatvan Street – Nagy Imre Street – Csemete Street – Dózsa György Street – Nádor Street – Thomas Mann Street – Mikszáth Kálmán Street – Békessy Béla Street – Móricz Zsigmond Street – Pallagi Street – TEVA Pharmaceutical Factory – Pallagi Street – Móricz Zsigmond Street – original route – Móricz Zsigmond Street – Pallagi Street – TEVA Pharmaceutical Factory – Pallagi Street – Móricz Zsigmond Street – Békessy Béla Street – Mikszáth Kálmán Street – Thomas Mann Street – Nádor Street – Dózsa György Street – Csemete Street – Nagy Imre Street – Hatvan Street – Nyugati Street – Széchenyi Street – Antall.

Bus 11:

From 7.00 a.m. until the carnival parade passes by, the route will be as follows: Segner Square – Pesti Street – Mester Street – Nagy Imre Street – Tisza István Street – Antall József Street – Erzsébet Street – Main Station – Wesselényi Street – Attila Square – Szent Anna Street – Klaipeda Street – Burgundia Street – Csapó Street – original route – Csapó Street – Burgundia Street – Klaipeda Street – Szent Anna Street – Attila Square – Wesselényi Street – Main Station – Erzsébet Street – Antall József Street – Tisza István Street – Nagy Imre Street – Mester Street – Pesti Street – Segner Square.

Bus 12:

From 7.00 a.m. until the carnival parade passes, the route will be as follows: original route – Thomas Mann Street – Mikszáth Kálmán Street – Békessy Béla Street – Móricz Zsigmond Road – Pallagi Road – TEVA Pharmaceutical Factory – Pallagi Road – Móricz Zsigmond Road – Auguszta Clinical Center – Móricz Zsigmond Road – Békessy Béla Street – Mikszáth Kálmán Street – Thomas Mann Street – original route.

Bus 13:

From 7.00 a.m. until the carnival parade passes, the route will be: Segner Square – Hatvan Street – Nagy Imre Street – Csemete Street – Dózsa György Street – Nádor Street – Thomas Mann Street – Mikszáth Kálmán Street – Békessy Béla Street – Móricz Zsigmond Road – Pallagi Road – original route – Pallagi Road – Móricz Zsigmond Road – Békessy Béla Street – Mikszáth Kálmán Street – Thomas Mann Street – Nádor Street – Dózsa György Street – Csemete Street – Nagy Imre Street – Hatvan Street – Segner Square.

Bus 14Y:

From 7.00  a.m. until the end of the carnival parade, the service will run as bus 14 on the route of bus 14.

15, 15Y buses:

From 7.00 a.m. until the carnival parade passes, the route will be: Doberdó Street – Böszörményi Road – Mester Street – Nagy Imre Street – Tisza István Street – Antall József Street – Erzsébet Street – Main Station – Mikepércsi Road – original route – Mikepércsi Road – Main Station – Erzsébet Street – Antall József Street – Tisza István Street – Nagy Imre Street – Mester Street – Böszörményi Road – Doberdó Street.

Bus 16:

On August 20, the bus will run on a detour route in both directions during its entire operating hours. The bus will run towards the TEVA Pharmaceutical Factory on the detour route Baksay Sándor Street – Nagyerdei Boulevard (towards the University) – Pallagi Road. Towards the Grand Station, it will run on the detour route Pallagi Road – Nagyerdei Boulevard (towards the University) – Hadházi Road detour route towards the Main Station.

Bus 19:

From 7.00 a.m. until the end of the carnival parade, and from 7.00 p.m. until the end of the evening parade, the bus will run towards Sámsoni Road via Széchenyi Street – Tisza István Street – Antall József Street – Erzsébet Street – Main Station – Wesselényi Street – Hajnal Street – Munkácsy Mihály Street.

Towards the Ice Hall, it will run along the detour route Arad Street – Faraktár Street – Hajnal Street – Wesselényi Street – Nagyállomás – Erzsébet Street – Antall József Street – Miklós Street.

Buses 22, 22Y, 24, and 24Y:

Outside of the carnival parade, during full operating hours:

Bus 22 runs on the following route: Clinical Center – Nagyerdei Boulevard (roundabout) – Pallagi Road – Nagyerdei Boulevard (towards the University) – Hadházi Road – Benczúr Gyula Street – Public Cemetery, main gate detour.

Bus 22Y runs via Nagyerdei Boulevard (towards the University) – Hadházi Road – Benczúr Gyula Street – Public Cemetery main gate detour route after the Social Home stop.

Bus 24 will run via Benczúr Gyula Street – Hadházi Road – Nagyerdei Boulevard (towards the University) – Nagyerdei Boulevard (roundabout) – Clinical Center detour route after the Public Cemetery main gate stop.

Bus 24Y will run via Benczúr Gyula Street – Hadházi Road – Nagyerdei Boulevard (towards the University) – Pallagi Road after the Public Cemetery main gate stop.

During the carnival parade:

Bus line 22 will run along Doberdó Street – Kartács Street – Móricz Zsigmond Street – Pallagi Road – TEVA Pharmaceutical Factory until the carnival parade has passed. From TEVA Pharmaceutical Factory, buses will run in the opposite direction with number 24 towards Vincellér Street.

Bus 22Y will run along Békessy Béla Street – Kartács Street – Móricz Zsigmond Road – Pallagi Road – TEVA Pharmaceutical Factory. From the TEVA Pharmaceutical Factory, buses will run in the opposite direction with the number 24Y towards Vincellér Street.

Buseed 24, 24Y run on the Hatvan Street – Tisza István Street – Antall József Street – Erzsébet Street – Nagyállomás – Wesselényi Street – Attila square – Szent Anna Street – Klaipeda Street – Burgundia Street – Csapó Street – Kassai Street – Benczúr Gyula Street – Public Cemetery main gate diversion route. The buses run on the return route towards Vincellér Street with the 22, 22Y signs.

Buses 23, 23Y:

Bus 23 will not operate from 7.00 a.m. until the carnival procession leaves. Bus 23Y will not operate from the start of service until the carnival procession leaves.

Buses 25, 125:

Buses will operate from 7.00 a.m. until the carnival procession leaves and from 7.00 p.m. until the end of the evening parade on the Segner Square – Nyugati Street – Külsővásártér – Erzsébet Street – Nagyállomás – Wesselényi Street – Hajnal Street – Faraktár Street – original route – Faraktár Street – Hajnal Street – Wesselényi Street – Nagyállomás – Erzsébet Street – Külsővásártér – Nyugati Street – Segner Square diversion route.

Bus 33:

From 7.00 a.m. until the carnival procession passes, the route of the buses is: Segner Square – Hatvan Street – Nagy Imre Street – Csemete Street – Dózsa György Street – Füredi Street – original route – Füredi Street – Dózsa György Street – Csemete Street – Nagy Imre Street – Hatvan Street – Segner Square.

Bus 41:

From 7.00 a.m. until the carnival procession passes and from 7.00 p.m. until the end of the evening parade, the bus will operate on the Széchenyi Street – Tisza István Street – Antall József Street – Erzsébet Street – Nagyállomás – Wesselényi Street – Hajnal Street – Faraktár Street – original route – Faraktár Street – Hajnal Street – Wesselényi Street – Grand Station – Erzsébet Street – Antall József Street – Tisza István Street – Széchenyi Street.

Bus 43:

From 7.00 a.m. until the carnival procession passes, the route of the buses is: Grand Station – Erzsébet Street – Antall József Street – Nagy Imre Street – Mester Street – original route – Mester Street – Nagy Imre Street – Antall József Street – Erzsébet Street – Grand Station
