Local Tax Obligation – 2026
The Tax Department of the Mayor’s Office of Debrecen has commenced the delivery of balance notifications, which provide assistance in meeting local tax payment obligations for the first half of 2026.
Notifications are sent by post to private individuals who, by the date of issue of the balance notification, have not opted for electronic communication.
For private individuals registered for electronic communication, as well as for sole traders, the letter will be delivered to their Ügyfélkapu, and for companies to their Cégkapu.
First half-year payment obligations may be settled without late-payment interest until 16 March 2026.
A cheque is enclosed only with notifications delivered by post for the purpose of fulfilling the obligation. Please note that everyone has the option to settle their tax liability through a transaction qualifying as a bank card purchase via E-Önkormányzat Portál using the EFER system.
