No Dutch Destination Available from Debrecen International Airport During Eindhoven Airport Closure Next Year
Between 1 February and 19 July 2027, Eindhoven Airport will be closed to commercial air traffic to allow for a complete runway reconstruction. During that time, Wizz Air will operate its Budapest service and several other routes normally served from Eindhoven from Maastricht Aachen Airport instead. In response to Médiacentrum Debrecen’s inquiry about the Debrecen–Eindhoven route, which has disappeared from schedules for the period in question, the airline confirmed that no Dutch destination will be available from Debrecen during the closure at Eindhoven Airport.
Wizz Air is continuously reviewing the development of its route network and will provide further information about any changes at a later date, the airline said. Alongside Eindhoven, the airline currently operates flights from Debrecen to London, Istanbul and Larnaca. The seasonal service to Cyprus will run until 21 October, but it has already been confirmed that the route will return next year, as it has appeared in Wizz Air’s schedule. In 2027, the first flight is scheduled to depart on 28 March and the last on 24 October. There will be two flights per week, on Wednesdays and Sundays.
The other seasonal route, to Varna, does not yet appear in Wizz Air’s 2027 schedule.
In addition to Wizz Air, Lufthansa operates a scheduled service from Debrecen to Munich, Germany.
