Road Section Resurfaced Between Vértesi Street and Landfill
Another phase of the access road upgrade to the Regional Waste Management Centre has been completed, with the section between Vértesi Street and the landfill resurfaced with new asphalt. In recent weeks, similar road improvement works have also been carried out in the Tégláskert district and around the city’s main railway station in the southern part of Debrecen.
The area around the regional waste management centre experiences heavy traffic from both lorries and passenger vehicles and had therefore become significantly worn. Over the past few weeks, however, the access road between the facility and Vértesi Street has been resurfaced in two phases. As part of the project, the road verge and the roadside drainage ditch were also refurbished. The investment was financed with HUF 94 million in central government funding. In addition, several nearby streets have also been upgraded. “Téglás Street, Pásztor Street, and Tégláskert Street, which connects Téglás Street and Pásztor Street in the Tégláskert district, have also received new asphalt surfaces,” highlighted city councillor Zoltán Piros.
Several road sections have also been resurfaced around the Main Railway Station in southern Debrecen, including a large section of Déli Row and the junction of Salétrom Street and Déli Row, making travel both safer and more comfortable.
