Special Train Timetable to Accommodate Supporters on National Football Team Match Day in Debrecen
Good news for supporters: they will be able to comfortably catch the train departing from Debrecen at 22:04 next Tuesday, following the final whistle of the Hungary–Kazakhstan match held at the Great Forest Stadium. The service, operating on an InterCity timetable, is expected to arrive at Nyugati Railway Station at 00:39.
Four days after Friday’s friendly against Finland held at Puskás Arena in Budapest, the Hungarian men’s national “A” team will host Kazakhstan on 9 June at Great Forest Stadium in Debrecen. There is significant interest in the match, with supporters expected to arrive not only from Debrecen and its surrounding area, but also from many parts of the country, including large numbers from the capital.
The Hungarian Football Federation had informed MÁV Group about the the fact that, based on the existing timetable, travelling fans heading towards Budapest would not be able to make the last train departing shortly after the match, at 21:04. The railway company was fully open to resolving the issue and informed the Hungarian Football Federation on Tuesday that it would ensure supporters could get home.
Accordingly, it has now been officially confirmed that an additional train will depart from Debrecen railway station at 22:04, running with InterCity-style stops (Hajdúszoboszló, Püspökladány, Szolnok, Cegléd, Ferihegy, Kőbánya-Kispest, Zugló), and is expected to arrive at Budapest Nyugati Railway Station at 00:39.
