The University of Debrecen’s sports campus on Dóczy Street will be further developed
The University of Debrecen would build a changing room and storage building in the area of the DEAC Sports Complex, which would provide changing and storage facilities for the tennis courts. The building would also include an office room for administrative tasks, and the university has put out a public tender for the construction of the building complex.
According to the tender documents, the gross floor area of the building will be almost 100 square metres, and the northwestern side of the bleachers will be located next to the existing water block.
Firms have until July 28 to apply for the tender, and the winner will have six months to complete the work.
The University of Debrecen’s renovated sports campus on Dóczy Street was opened two years ago. During the works, the existing old, listed grandstand, built in 1928, was modernised and integrated with new building wings to the right and left of it, totaling almost a thousand square metres.Together, the three-storey facility now covers almost 1,500 square metres. On the first floor, among other things, offices for the Institute for Sports Science Coordination and the DEAC departments were created. The two new parts were connected by a corridor behind the old stand, where a permanent exhibition space was created to house DEAC relics. Classrooms were located on the second level. In addition, the complex also includes stands, changing rooms, offices, warehouses, and workshops. The investment, financed by the University of Debrecen, lasted one and a half years, was carried out by Dryvit Profi Kft., and cost HUF 1 billion 320 million.
The University of Debrecen Athletics Club, DEAC, has 33 departments.
