The Industry Day programme in Debrecen was organised in the Lovarda.

Mayor László Papp said at the event that the largest and most significant process is the so-called industrial revolution, which will significantly and positively determine the region’s and Debrecen’s future in the coming period.

At the Industry Day trade fair, interested parties could learn about thirty companies’ activities, industrial innovations and job opportunities. “I am studying to be an architect, and I think there is too much information available today, and it is challenging to find information. I also think that communication is decreasing significantly. Here we can communicate, improve in this, and receive information in the right amount,” Zsuzsanna Erdélyi told Debrecen Television.

In his welcoming speech, Rector Zoltán Szilvássy emphasised that the University of Debrecen works closely with companies.

“Practically all competitive sectors of the Hungarian economy, the university has structured industrial relations. Some of this is in a cluster; others are competence centers. There are around 500 companies around the university in all kinds of sectors,” Zoltán Szilvássy said.

“Debrecen is repositioning itself both domestically, regionally and internationally. The various awards demonstrate that the city’s economic performance is unique in domestic and international terms,”  László Papp explained. In his presentation, the Mayor compared the three industrial development eras, dualism, socialist industrialisation and the current economic processes.

“The biggest, the most significant one can be the so-called industrial revolution taking place today, and I am quite sure that this process will significantly positively determine the future of Debrecen and the region for this century,” the Mayor highlighted. The Head of Training of BMW Hungary Ltd. said, “The company has started the development of a solar power park covering several tens of hectares. Test production started at the factory last year, and series production will begin at the end of this year. In September, BMW will present the model produced in Debrecen at the international automotive exhibition in Munich.”

“In September, 200 students began their studies in our dual training, and the medical examination occurred yesterday and today. We will have a big announcement for the next generation: We will now have 300 students in dual training. We will be one of the largest technician training institutions in the country,” Head of training at BMW Manufacturing Hungary Ltd. Botond Barabás pointed out.
