Three international students honored with two‑year research scholarships

Following their victory in the Hungarian round, two of the students advanced to the world finals, where they delivered an outstanding performance and secured third place, the university reported on its website.

The IsotopeX team, composed of students from the Faculty of Health Sciences, already proved themselves in the Hungarian finals. The trio—Sophia Palma from the Philippines, Mahnoor Riaz from Pakistan, and Jomana Ben Khadra from Morocco—took first place, earning the right to compete in the world finals.

In the finale held in Moscow on the closing day of the World Atomic Week program series and international forum, the IsotopeX team—represented by Mahnoor Riaz and Sophia Palma—delivered an outstanding performance and achieved remarkable success, finishing in third place at the world finals.

Mahnoor Riaz and Sophia Palma presented the creation of a nuclear energy source for the task of applying nuclear energy in space exploration, which monitors the fluid retention and other vital functions of a sleeping astronaut during space travel.

The talents were personally congratulated by Rector Zoltán Szilvássy in the past few days, and two of the students were able to attend the welcoming ceremony.
