Wreath-laying ceremonies in Debrecen on November 4, 2025

The Municipality of Debrecen will organize a commemoration and wreath-laying ceremony on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, the national day of mourning, in honor of the commemoration of the suppression of the 1956 revolution and war of independence.

8:30 a.m.

Raising of the Hungarian flag and lowering it to half-mast at Kossuth Square

9:00 a.m.

Wreath-laying ceremony at the memorial plaque of László Iván Kovács on the wall of the Bethlen Gábor Economic Technical School and Dormitory building of the Debrecen Vocational Training Center ( 8 Piac Street)

10:00 a.m.

Wreath-laying ceremony at the ’56 headstone in the Debrecen Public Cemetery

Commemoration. Speech will be given by Deputy Mayor Diána Széles.

11:00 a.m.

Wreath laying at the memorial plaque commemorating the military victims of 1956 at the Kossuth Barracks
