2026/27 Season Tickets Now Available for Kodály Philharmonia Concerts in Debrecen
The two ensembles of Kodály Philharmonia, the Philharmonic Orchestra and the Choir, gave a total of nearly one hundred concerts during the season that has just concluded, almost 30 of which were youth concerts. The company’s season closing event was held on 17 June, with awards presented to outstanding members.
Season ticket sales have now begun for Kodály Philharmonia’s 2026/27 season. The programme features Johann Sebastian Bach’s St Matthew Passion, Brahms’s A German Requiem, and Haydn’s oratorio The Seasons. The symphonic repertoire includes works that have shaped concert life for generations: Stravinsky’s The Firebird Suite, Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9 “From the New World”, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7, and Schubert’s Symphony No. 8 “Unfinished”.
The season’s programme also opens a path back to the twentieth century, with performances of Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring, Respighi’s Pines of Rome, and a special evening dedicated to the music of Nino Rota.
The Kodály Choir’s independent a cappella concerts will offer fresh perspectives on the rich world of choral music.
A rarity even within Hungary’s concert scene is the Academia Classica Chamber Orchestra Series, placing some of the most outstanding chamber orchestra works in music history in the spotlight under the artistic direction of Tibor Bényi.
