EcoPro Employees Organise Another Joint Litter-picking Action in Debrecen
EcoPro BM Hungary is continuing its environmental programme, “1 Day – 1 Place”, which aims to help keep Debrecen and its surrounding areas clean through voluntary actions carried out by the company’s employees. In a statement this Thursday, the company said that its employees organised litter-picking activities in Debrecen’s Southern Economic Zone and around Lake Vekeri as the first two stops of the programme. Equipped with appropriate protective gear and working in teams, the volunteers cleared the designated areas of discarded waste, helping to make the environment cleaner and more liveable.
The first action took place on 24 July in the immediate vicinity of EcoPro BM Hungary’s site in Debrecen’s Southern Economic Zone, where more than 40 employees joined the initiative. As the programme’s second stop, the focus shifted to Lake Vekeri and its surroundings on 13 August, with more than 40 colleagues again taking part in the environmental action. The participants worked to preserve the cleanliness of a nature area that is particularly important to Debrecen and its residents, collecting a significant amount of waste, which EcoPro BM Hungary arranged to have removed and properly processed.
As the company explains, the aim of the “1 Day – 1 Place” programme is not only to clean up the environment, but also to strengthen a sense of community responsibility and demonstrate that sustainability becomes a genuine value through tangible actions carried out in everyday life. The programme will take place monthly until the end of autumn and will continue at new locations in the spring. The initiative aims to contribute to the long-term preservation of Debrecen and its surrounding natural environment, while also strengthening a culture of volunteering and community cooperation among the company’s employees, the statement concludes.
