Light Friday Returns Today to Raise Awareness of Visibility Aids for Road Users
Light Friday is back on 6 November, with police welcoming road users at 21 locations across Hungary, including four spots in Hajdú-Bihar County, to hand out free visibility aids and highlight the importance of road safety as the days grow shorter.
In a post on its social media channels, the Hungarian Police has reminded the public that as, more and more people set out at dusk or in complete darkness during the autumn months, pedestrians, cyclists and e-scooter users in particular need to make sure they can be clearly seen by other road users even in poor visibility conditions.
As part of the Light Friday campaign launched under the slogan “Be Seen and Be Safe,” people will be able to collect free visibility aids at 21 designated locations across the country between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. on 6 November. The police are encouraging road users to collect these free safety items and, most importantly, to make use of them in their everyday lives to protect themselves.
In Hajdú-Bihar County, the following locations will welcome visitors:
- Debrecen: 92 Kassai Road (petrol station)
- Berettyóújfalu: 98 Kossuth Street (shopping centre car park)
- Hajdúszoboszló: Szent István Park
- Püspökladány: Junction of Baross and Rákóczi Streets
