Under the call for applications, young people in disadvantaged social circumstances may apply for two types of scholarship.
• Type “A” scholarship is open to higher education students in disadvantaged social circumstances who have a permanent address within the area of the local authority and are pursuing full-time studies (daytime programme) at a higher education institution, in a bachelor’s programme leading to a bachelor’s degree and professional qualification, a master’s programme leading to a master’s degree and professional qualification, an undivided programme or a higher education vocational programme. The scholarship is paid for 10 months, covering two consecutive academic semesters (the second semester of the 2026/2027 academic year and the first semester of the 2027/2028 academic year).
• Type “B” scholarship is open to young people in disadvantaged social circumstances who have a permanent address within the area of the local authority and are final-year secondary school students preparing for their school-leaving examination in the 2026/2027 academic year, or school-leavers without a higher education qualification who have not yet been admitted to a higher education institution and intend, from the 2027/2028 academic year, to undertake full-time studies (daytime programme) at a higher education institution in a bachelor’s programme leading to a bachelor’s degree and professional qualification, an undivided programme or a higher education vocational programme. The scholarship is paid for 3 × 10 months, covering six consecutive academic semesters (the 2027/2028, 2028/2029 and 2029/2030 academic years).
Of the applicants, only those who are admitted to a higher education institution for the first time through the 2027 admissions procedure and actually begin their studies in the 2027/2028 academic year will be eligible to receive a scholarship.
