Debreceni Vagyonkezelő Zrt., celebrating its 25th anniversary, welcomed its employees with a birthday party

Playful tasks, an award ceremony, and a cake awaited the participants at the birthday fiesta in the amusement park. Employees of the nine member companies and their families were invited to the Saturday program. “Debreceni Vagyonkezelő (Debrecen Asset Management Ltd.), founded 25 years ago, is the first company in the country to operate municipal assets in a holding form and has already become one of the engines of Debrecen’s economy,” Mayor László Papp said in his welcoming speech.

For the birthday fiesta of Debreceni Vagyonkezelő Zrt., each member company prepared playful tasks characteristic of its work. At the Debrecen Media Center stand, participants could test their senses; they were awaited with 9+1 stations. Employees of the member companies and their families were invited to the birthday party. The tasks were put together in such a way that all ages would have fun. More than 1,600 people work at the nine member companies of Debreceni Vagyonkezelő, which is 25 years old this year.

“A successful past can also mean a successful future. The companies that are part of the holding company work together for the city, serving the city residents of Debrecen every day. Not a day goes by without the people of Debrecen encountering our services,” CEO Virág Marossy emphasized.

“Debrecen was the first city in the country to decide to operate its municipal corporate assets in the form of a holding company, and the past 25 years have proven that this model has worked,” László Papp said. The mayor added that over a quarter of a century, despite global economic crises, COVID, and the wartime energy crisis, the asset manager has not only been doing its job effectively and profitably but has also become one of the engines of the city’s economic life. “Those huge industrial park developments and the development of industrial properties are largely thanks to the Debreceni Vagyonkezelő, generating significant income for the city. And it contributes to the fact that more than 20,000 new jobs have been created and Debrecen’s economy is one of the strongest in the country today,” he highlighted.

The awards for the anniversary drawing competition and sports competitions between member companies were presented at the birthday fiesta, which also included a cake. The employees were thanked with four huge cakes for their successful work over the past quarter century.
