For their Advent special performance on  13 December at the Kölcsey Centre, the entire 350-strong community of the Hajdú Folk Dance Ensemble will take to the stage, from pre-school children to senior dancers, coming together to showcase the strength and beauty of tradition.

Since 1953, the Debrecen Hajdú Folk Dance Ensemble has been preserving, nurturing and enriching our folk art with unwavering enthusiasm and dedication. Its work has been recognised with prestigious awards, including the European Folk Art Award, the Mihály Csokonai Vitéz Community Award, the Pro Urbe Award of the City of Debrecen and the Hungarian Heritage Award.

At every assessment, all generations of the ensemble have achieved the highest distinctions – Gold I and the title of “Outstandingly Qualified Ensemble” – within the official professional qualification system for folk dance groups.

Tickets are available in advance online.
