Beer by Lake is a culinary and cultural event held as part of the Debrecen Flower Carnival, dedicated to promoting high-quality beer culture and sophisticated entertainment. Bringing the spirit of the new-wave beer revolution to Eastern Hungary, the festival has become a unique meeting point for beer enthusiasts and festivalgoers.

A side-event to one of the country’s largest and most renowned festivals, the Debrecen Flower Carnival, Beer by Lake offers an exciting selection of Hungarian and international craft beers and the experience of carefree relaxation.

The atmosphere of the event is defined by the unique natural surroundings of the Békás Lake and the special ambiance of the Great Forest Park. Guided by experts and popular culinary bloggers, visitors can join thematic tasting walks where they can discover different beer styles, breweries, flavor profiles, and the fascinating traditions behind beer making.

With free entry, the event also features live music performances and community games such as beer pong and quizzes, all contributing to a relaxed and enjoyable festival atmosphere. Alongside the international malt selection, Hungarian craft breweries are invited to participate, and due to both their growing presence and the increasing number of visitors, the festival area has doubled in size in recent years.
