With the intention of establishing a tradition, each year a Hungarian grape variety is placed at the centre of attention, allowing visitors to discover new experiences through the diversity of wine regions and the effects of terroir and microclimate. Following last year’s Olaszrizling, this year Kékfrankos takes the spotlight, one of the most characteristic red grape varieties of the Carpathian Basin. Although it was long overshadowed by international trends, winemakers are increasingly recognising its versatility: from light, fruity wines to complex, full-bodied styles, it offers a wide spectrum.
A distinctive feature of the event is the pairing of wine and jazz, during which organisers present which wines are best tasted alongside particular bands, making the combined sensory experience truly unforgettable. Throughout the festival, participants can choose from a curated selection of Hungarian wineries, including several unconventional producers with unique offerings.
