Exhibition of Painter János Maksai opens in Simonffy Street Youth Centre

Simonffy u 21. Debrecen, Hungary

Exhibition entitled "I'll tell you in the language of painting" is opening at the Simonffy Street Youth Centre on the 4th of  March at 4.30 p.m. The exhibition will be opened by Managing Director of DEMKI János D. Halász, and President of the Association for the Great Forest of Debrecen Ibolya Marincsák with the contribution of  Napsugár Bartha. For János Maksai, love is the key word. He feels comfortable in the world and does what he loves: painting. For the painter from Debrecen, creating is the most natural part of life. His life is usually predictable: he gets up in the morning and goes to paint... And for recreation he sometimes does gardening and is active around the house.  He has been painting for more than fifty years, and in that time he has put thousands of paintings on canvas. Some of them are quite small, but some are 150x320 cm, which he assembled from three pieces, because otherwise they would not have fit into the painter's studio. As the gallery is also an event hall, the organisers ask visitors to get informed about the exhibition visiting hours at phone number 06-52/415-498.   Date: 4-27 March Location: Simonffy Street Youth […]

Polish Painter’s Paintings on Display in German Cultural Forum

Deutsches Kulturforum 24 Batthyány Street, Debrecen, Hungary

The exhibition, entitled Vanishing Landscape will open on the 5th of March Tuesday at 5.00  p.m. at the German Cultural Forum in Debrecen and can be visited until the 31st of March. The artist wants to draw attention to the problem of disappearing green spaces and places untouched by human intervention. There are fewer and fewer of these places and are being squeezed out year by year by new investments, and there is a real risk that the landscape we have known until now will disappear. Barbara Hubert was born in Rzeszów and attended the School of Fine Arts. She completed her higher education in the painting department at the Krakow Academy of Fine Arts, studying under professors Stanisław Rodziński and Leszek Misiak. She currently resides in her hometown of Rzeszów, where she is active as both an artist and educator. Date: 5-31 March Location: Debrecen German Cultural Forum Source: dehir.hu

Kodály Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra awaits the audience for the next concert in the concert series conducted by permanent conductor Tibor Bényi on the 5th of March from 7.00 p.m. Programme: J. S. Bach: III (G major) "Brandenburg Concerto" BWV 1048 J. S. Bach: Piano Concerto in F minor, BWV 1056 / J. S. Bach: "Ich habe genug" BWV 82 - Church Cantata / J. S. Bach: Suite in D major, BWV 1068 Contributors: Dániel Somogyi-Tóth, Chief Music Director of the City of Debrecen - piano accompaniment, Daisy Laura Tarnóc - vocals Conductor: Tibor Bényi About the performance: As a result of the musical fashions of recent decades, the performance of almost the entire Baroque and Classical repertoire has been entrusted to specialists in the so-called early music ensembles. Contemporary symphony orchestras relatively rarely undertake to perform pre-19th century composers, fearing that their performance style will lack authenticity. It is therefore particularly gratifying that the Kodály Philharmonic Orchestra is devoting an entire concert to the art of J.S. Bach, demonstrating that, for a valid interpretation, in addition to the knowledge of contemporary playing styles and phrasing, a performer's individuality and imagination are still required for valid interpretation.
