DVSC legends and Kowalsky and the Vega band are organising a charity soccer gala again in Debrecen

The event on the 28th of  January  will be hosted by Imre Hódos Sports Hall. The entire taking of the event will be donated to the Szivárvány az Esőben (Rainbow in the Rain)  Foundation, which helps families in need. DVSC Legends and Kowalsky and the Vega organised their first charity soccer gala in 2019. Now they are preparing for the third series of friendly matches, in which the celebrities of Debrecen and the fans of Diósgyőr, as a novelty will also enter the field.  In addition, young football talents will also play. ‘There will be a 2 times 12-minute part, where the DVSC U7 children will compete with the Diósgyőr U7 children, thus halving the field,’ chief organiser, Csaba Bernáth said. The entire income of the event ‘Let's play football for a million’ will be donated to the Szivárvány az Esőben (Rainbow in the Rain), which helps families in difficult situations. Winter Moods come to life in the community centre in Debrecen

An exhibition of the works of the Creative Artists of Debrecen (DAK) opens under the title Winter Moods. The exhibition will be opened on Monday, on the 29th of January at 5 p.m. by doctor-painter, Dr. Nóra Medveczky in the Újkert Community Hall. Exhibiting artists: Katalin Erdeiné Törőcsik, Ferenc Gulyás, Béla Kelemen, Csaba Kiss, Imre Lackó Szilágyi, Nóra Medveczky, Katalin Sándorné Hirsch and Ferenc Pallás. Festival of Award-winning Films with Famous Experts, Football Legends and a Slam Night

The program of the Debrecen BIDF (Budapest International Documentary Film Festival), starts on the 1st of February. Visitors can watch some of the most award-winning documentaries of the past year at Cinema City until the 4th of February.  The opening of the program will take place on Thursday, on the 1st of February at 4:00 p.m. at the Evani Studio (Piac Street 41. 1/6), where Orsolya Karafiáth will have a talk with the organisers of the event and the experts invited to the professional discussions. The opening film of the program in Debrecen is the Icelandic work Our Little Homeland. On the 2nd of February, a Slam evening will take place as a side event in the Malter cultural event space, organised by DebreSalm. The program in Debrecen also included two Oscar-nominated films and many other works awarded with prestigious international recognition. The topics will be diverse this year as well. Jazz For You – Carnival Concert under the Enchantment of Jazz

The Steve Jazz Trio is made up of three teachers from the jazz department of the Béla Bartók High School of Music and Dance in Miskolc, who although excel primarily in the jazz genre, are also at home in the field of classical music. Pianist István Bundzik is a member and founder of several jazz formations: Fusio, Junior Art Quartett, Miskolc Dixieland Band, Click Jazz Band, and he tours the world's stages as a permanent piano accompanist of violinist Katica Illényi. Bass player Gyula Horváth, in addition to playing in symphonic and chamber orchestras, is a fan of the jazz genre, so the audience can recognize him mainly from such musical formations. Jazz drummer Gábor Kacsenyák does not stick to a single musical genre either, in addition to running a private drumming school, he also teaches classical percussion in several institutions, and appears on domestic stages in several light music ensembles. The 22nd Masquerade event at Vojtina Puppet Theatre lasts six days

In the special program series, the Theatre shows how winter was once driven away with centuries-old folk traditions and fair comedy. At the event, King Konc, symbolising the carnival, and Voivode Cibere, the symbol of fasting, will clash but visitors can also meet masquerades such as the counting goat, the dancing bear and the carnival bride. At the Puppet Theatre, kindergarten and school groups are received twice a day on weekdays.  On Sunday, the 11st of February from 10 a.m. families can participate in the interactive presentation of the Masquerade. Concert of Győr Philharmonic Orchestra

Professionalism, innovative solutions and international standards characterize the work of the Győr Philharmonic Orchestra, which provides world-class professional quality to its partners, audience, soloists and guest conductors. The band's performances were characterized by resounding success in almost all European countries, but on the most important music stages of Asia, in China, South Korea, and Taiwan, it also managed to win the recognition of both the profession and the audience. In the spring of 2009, the orchestra took part in a highly successful Far East and European tour with the legendary Italian film composer-conductor, Oscar winner Ennio Morricone. The Győr Philharmonic Orchestra's rich repertoire covers not only classical and traditional works, but it can also combine lighter genres with its professional skills. It simultaneously fulfills the role of a traditional large orchestra, a crossover film orchestra, an outdoor or gala orchestra, a smaller or larger chamber orchestra and possibly a concert brass band. Every month, on two designated Thursdays, the ladies are in the spotlight from 4 pm until closing time. During this period, the sauna world "pampers" ladies only and is closed to men. From 5 pm onwards, the ladies will be accompanied by a professional sauna master to help them recover from tiring weekdays and to discover the benefits of a healthy sauna for body and soul. Exhibition of works by art teachers in Tócóskert

An exhibition of works by art teachers from Debrecen will open soon in Tócóskert. The title is peculiar, but the location is familiar. The exhibition opens on the 9th of February and will run until the end of the month, the 29th of  February. As Károly Szabó, the art teacher of the Medgyessy High School, tells there is a bit of playfulness and, of course, information in the title of the exhibition opening in the  Medgyessy High School’s  Gallery at Angyalföld Square 7, which looks like this: 24209229. The first two digits are the year, followed by the month and the day.  The event is important for students and teachers alike. Church Backyard Market

The Church Backyard Market (Egyháztáji Vásár) will be organised, one week earlier as usual, on the 10th of February. At the market visitors can buy products from local farmers and artisans at favourable prices in the heart of the city centre. The organisers of the event are Debrecen Great Church Congregation and Hajdúság Pantry (Hajdúság Éléskamrája). In 2024 the lent is from Ash Wednesday, the 14th of February to Holy Saturday, the 30th of March.
