On 5 May, 2026, , several buildings at a scrap yard in Debrecen caught fire, along with a large quantity of paper waste on Külső Kassai Road, according to the Hajdú-Bihar County Disaster Management Directorate.

Thanks to the coordinated efforts of professional firefighters from Debrecen and other settlements, as well as volunteer firefighters from Debrecen, the fire at the site has been contained, and response operations are ongoing.

We thank professional and volunteer firefighters for their work.
