Road construction on Hegyköz Street completed

The details were presented at a press conference held on the 26th of July 2024 by local representative Gyöngyi Nagy Dankuné.

The representative said in advance that the D2030 programme would focus on the city’s commitment to road rehabilitation. The aim has always been to help improve the living conditions of people in Debrecen. She added that, as in previous years, 2024 will see a number of road improvements in the city, initiated by the residents.

She pointed out that the asphalting of a new road has recently been completed as part of the road programme. The road works on Hegyköz Street started in April 2024, during which a total of 311 metres of the street were resurfaced. As part of the project, the connecting section from Hármashegy Street to Hegyköz Street was paved in two phases, with a length of 105 metres and a width of 6 metres. From the connecting section of Hegyköz Street towards the railway, 206 metres in length and 4.5 metres in width were paved. In addition, embankments were built on both sides of the road.

Gyöngyi Nagy Dankuné thanked the contractor for the professional work and the residents for their patience during the work.

The representative pointed out that the works were carried out with municipal funds of HUF 103 million. 

She added that road renovation, resurfacing and asphalting in her district are expected to continue in the second half of the year as part of the Urban Development Programme.
