Tram Line Maintenance Switches to Night Shifts Due to Heatwave

Due to the exceptional heatwave and the Level 2 heat alert currently in force, tram track renovation works taking place on Kossuth Square will continue overnight after the end of service each day, as announced by DKV.

According to the statement, in line with the technological requirements of the construction process, temperatures fall below the necessary threshold during the night, allowing rail replacement works to be carried out. These works are essential for ensuring the long-term safe operation of the tram transport infrastructure.

Depending on weather conditions, residents living near the affected section of track may experience noise from construction activities until approximately 12 July. DKV apologises for any inconvenience caused, the statement concludes.
