Video Released Showcasing Debrecen Logistics and Truck Terminal
A striking animated video has been published on the Debrecen Logistics and Truck Terminal’s Facebook page, showing what the facility will look like. With its foundation stone laid in March, the terminal is expected to be completed in the first half of 2027 in the North-West Economic Zone.
The aim of the development is to create a regional, centralised, cost-efficient logistics and truck terminal that will serve the BMW factory, its suppliers, city and regional clients, the Southern Economic Zone, as well as the city’s smaller industrial parks. With the construction of the truck park, the city and its road network will be significantly relieved of business-related logistics traffic, while strengthening the safety and reliability of transport infrastructure and improving the conditions for safe and sustainable mobility. The investment will contribute to the more efficient and safer operation of the European transport network, as previously stated by the investor, the municipally owned Debreceni Ingatlanfejlesztő Kft.
All three of the city’s industrial parks will be easily accessible from the site via the M35 motorway within a maximum of 10 minutes, and the truck terminal will also be capable of serving transit traffic on the M35. An intermodal rail terminal is located in the immediate vicinity of the truck terminal, where, together with the newly established customs office, the city centre can also be relieved of truck traffic arriving for customs clearance.
The terminal will be developed on a 9-hectare site and will be capable of accommodating 260 lorries to European standards. Worth HUF 4.7 billion and funded by European Union sources, the investment will be carried out by a consortium formed by Debreceni Mélyépítő Holding Kft. and “KE-VÍZ” 21 Zrt., which won the public procurement tender.
