Full Programme for 2nd Dance Week Now Available
A flash mob, Indian afternoon, performances, dance classes and film screenings will all feature in the festival organised around International Dance Day.
Linked to International Dance Day, Debrecen will once again spend an entire week celebrating the joy of movement and the city’s vibrant dance scene. According to the organisers’ announcement on Wednesday, the 2nd Debrecen Dance Week will welcome visitors from 25 April to 3 May with a diverse programme open to all age groups. The aim of the initiative is to be a shared platform for showcasing the diversity of the city’s dance communities—from folk dance through contemporary genres to community experiences such as flash mobs and open classes.

Dance of the Year 2026 – International Qualifying and Award Dance Competition
VOKE Egyetértés Cultural Centre, 9.00
At this prestigious international competition, dancers from Hungary and abroad will compete against one another.
28 April (Tuesday)
Open dance classes – Level Up Dance Studio
16.15–17.15 beginner
17.15–18.15 intermediate/advanced
The studio offers insight into its work, from hip-hop basics to advanced levels.
Open stage rehearsal – “Mind the Body” contemporary dance performance
Csokonai Forum, Latinovits Zoltán Hall, 17.00
An open rehearsal by the Gradient Contemporary Ballet offers insight into the creative process behind a performance exploring the relationship between body and mind.
Free Latin fitness dance class for adults
