Floats Already in the Making for Debrecen Flower Carnival
The 57th Debrecen Flower Carnival returns in 2026 in a reimagined format, welcoming visitors over an entire week from 18 to 23 August. The highlight of the event will be the spectacular parade on 20 August, when floral compositions made from hundreds of thousands of fresh flowers will make their way through the city.
This year’s concept is centred on shaping the future and shared responsibility. The organisers aim not only to celebrate Debrecen, but also to play an active role in shaping the city’s future by involving local communities, educational institutions and people of all generations. Among the performers at this year’s Debrecen Flower Carnival will be Kowalsky meg a Vega, Bogi Nagy and Califortune. Residents of the city will also have the opportunity to join the parade by taking part in a community dance coordinated by Move, Debrecen.
The spectacle will be further enhanced by an extended parade route, which will continue as far as Füredi Road in the evening, complemented by new grandstands near Őszirózsa Street and Andaházi Street. In addition, Dósa Nádor Square will be transformed into a community space where civil organisations, local businesses and educational institutions can showcase their creativity.
One of the most successful community activities of recent years, Night Ride, returns this year with a new route, while the night parade is set to reach a whole new level. Galiba Children’s Festival, which has become the most cheerful feature of the Debrecen Flower Carnival each year by placing the city’s youngest residents in the spotlight, will once again form part of the celebrations.
Year after year, the Debrecen Flower Carnival attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors and has become one of Debrecen’s most important international events.
